He has that suave look about him as he's walking up to
you. The swagger in his step is just a little too exaggerated.
He raises his eyebrow, gives you a silly grin and asks,
"Hey baby, what's your sign?" It happened more than once
when I was young.
What IS your sign? Is there a deeper meaning to the
horoscope or is it just a pick up line? You'll have to
decide that. But we can cover some basics about each sign
here. See how well your sign describes you, both good and
bad.
First things first. In astrology, the four elements, Fire,
Earth, Air and Water, each has three signs, which gives
you 12 signs, roughly one for every month.
The first sign of the Zodiac is Aries, a Fire sign. Aries
is the sign of the Ram and runs from March 21 to April 20.
Courage and a quick wit are Aries qualities. You can make
a good impression, but you're also quick-tempered. You can
also appear selfish, impatient and impulsive. You also have
ram-like qualities that will have you butting your horns
with other people!
Next up is Taurus. The sign of the Bull is from April 21
to May 20. This Earthy sign is known for people who are
reliable, patient and determined. They can also be greedy,
possessive and jealous. Just like a bull!
Geminis are born between May 21 and June 20. It's an Air
sign. This sign includes witty, versatile people who are
good communicators. They can also be superficial, tense
and nervous. They're known as "the Twins" because they
have a double-sided personality.
Crab, or Cancer people, are born between June 21 and July
20. They are loving but emotional. They are also
imaginative and very protective. On the other hand, they
can be clingy, moody and touchy. Their moodiness is ruled
by the tides rushing in and out because Cancer is a Water
sign.
The Lion, or Leo people, are born between July 21 and
August 20. This Fire sign is characterized by warmhearted,
generous people. Sometimes you have to take the good with
the bad. They can also be intolerant and pompous.
Virgo is the second Earth sign, with a birthdate between
August 21 and September 20. They are represented by the
Virgin and are modest and practical. However, they can be
overly critical and fussy.
Libra is the second Air sign, with a birth date between
September 21 and October 20. Libra individuals are
represented by the Scales and they weigh things
(figuratively) to make sure they're equal. On the one
hand, Libra is said to be charming, romantic, and
idealistic. On the other hand, they can be gullible and
self-indulgent.
Scorpio birthdates fall between October 21 and November 20
and are represented by the Scorpion. This Water sign has
passionate, determined, even forceful people. They can
also be obsessive, compulsive and prone to depression.
Sagittarius has a birth date between November 21 and
December 20. It's the third and wisest of the Fire signs.
"Archer" people are optimistic and happy. Their intellect
gives them plenty to talk about. However, they can also
put their foot in their mouth. Archers aim for high ideals
and make great teachers. They can also be superficial and
careless, and a little too loud.
Capricorn birthdays fall between December 21 and January
20. "Goats" are the third Earth sign and are very
determined, practical and careful. When they're in a bad
mood they can be very pessimistic.
Born between January 21 and February 20, Aquarius is
represented by Carrying Water, even though it's an Air
sign. Aquarians are inventive, original and independent.
This sign can also have perverse, unpredictable behaviors.
The final sign is Pisces, or the Fish. This Water sign
includes compassionate, sensitive people who can also be
easily led and are vague.
